REDD makes a splash in the East End

Has there ever been a restaurant in Rochester dining history so feverishly anticipated as REDD? The upscale New American restaurant, led by acclaimed chef Richard Reddington, has been generating buzz since its launch announcement in December 2018. With its opening in mid-August at the site of the former 2Vine, REDD is the first restaurant in Rochester with a Michelin-star chef at the helm. The new restaurant is owned by partners Reddington and local developer Dennis Wilmot, owner of Wilmot Development Group LLC. Reddington's long and impressive resume includes stints at Michelin-starred restaurants in San Francisco, Paris, and New York, working under such luminaries as Roland Passot, Wolfgang Puck, Alain Passard, and Daniel Boulud.

Reddington has returned to his roots to be closer to family after globetrotting and working in some of the world’s greatest food and wine meccas, like France, New York City and northern California, for the past twenty-five-plus years. Famed chef to take over former 2 Vine restaurant space

One of the most highly regarded and influential American chefs will launch his next restaurant in Rochester. WXXI News has confirmed that Richard Reddington has finalized a deal to take over the space formerly occupied by 2 Vine on Winthrop Street in Rochester. Reddington was the chef and owner of Redd in Napa Valley, which closed in October after a 13-year run. Redd was awarded a coveted Michelin star from 2008 to 2013. His Rochester restaurant will also carry the name Redd, and when it opens in April, Reddington will become Rochester's only Michelin-star chef in the city's history.
